AIR / FLUE GAS MIXER

For external flue gas recirculation to reduce NOX emissions, M&S offers air / flue gas mixers. This in-house development by M&S for mixing flue gas into the combustion air ensures even distribution of the flue gas over the entire cross-section of the combustion air duct, without the formation of flue gas streaks. This is the only way to ensure reliable reduction of NOX emissions at all burner load points. M&S offers the air / flue gas mixer individually adapted to the customer’s needs, both in terms of required recirculation quantities (up to 25% in relation to the maximum combustion air quantity), and in terms of the geometry of the combustion air duct and the spatial conditions on the plant.

FLOW STRAIGHTENER

M&S offers flow straighteners for the even inflow of the M&S grid burners type FB. During the engineering phase, the flow of the surface burner is examined and evaluated in a CFD analysis. In order to ensure low NOX emissions at all load points, the inflow of the grid burner must be as even as possible. If this is not the case due to the upstream gas turbine flow profile, M&S offers suitable rectifiers to even out the flow. The spectrum ranges from honeycomb swirl breakers to perforated plates and baffle plates. M&S supplies the necessary rectifiers individually matched to the conditions in the customer’s exhaust gas duct.
